It's Showering Babies!!
Yesterday I went to my coworker (and friend) Marielle's baby shower. She and her husband are expecting a little girl in April. We're all so excited for her and can't wait to meet the little doll!
The shower was held at Plimouth Plantation, in the visitor's center. They have several function rooms; there are many a wedding reception held there. The shower was decked in purple, green and pink - all lovely spring colors. The entire event was very classy and sophisticated, but not stuffy. Marielle was glowing and gorgeous as usual - she's still tiny even though she's pregnant!
This is my third baby shower this year and I keep encouraging all the women I know to have babies (I can sense their annoyance). I'm starting to get really good at baby shower games! I had a really fun time with my friends/coworkers and it reminded me that I should take the time to hang out with them outside of work more often. Times like those reinforce in me that my workplace is unlike most others - I'm fortunate enough to be surrounded by really wonderful, kind, friendly people who just want to help others. When my friends who work at other retail stores or other places tell me how awful their coworkers are, I thank my stars that my store is a family.
