Thoughts of the Day
- It's officially cold enough that I must wear long sleeves every day and defrost my car every morning now.
- My cold is almost gone. Thank goodness because I am tired of sniffling.
- My best friend came home last weekend. I may or may not have given him my cold which I feel badly about. It was really good to see him though, regardless that he forced me to watch Halloween and gave me nightmares.
- I have been crazy stressed lately, what with a geology test last week and two different psychology exams this week. I was so stressed that I forgot to eat several days this week. Not skipped eating, I forgot.
- The next month and a half is going to be a very busy one for me: two homecoming games, helping at a haunted house fundraiser, five birthdays to celebrate and my favorite holiday ever: THANKSGIVING!
- We already have "holiday festive" outfits available in Gap Kids and Baby. It's not even Halloween.
- About 60% of my freshman sociology class BLASTS their music through their earbuds. To say it is obnoxious would be putting it lightly. I don't understand how they could think hearing loss is "cool".
- Sociology is interesting. My sociology class is not. Only good thing about the class: I had to read a blog post about the social stigma of obesity in American society, called The Fantasy of Being Thin. It was well written and pointed out a lot of good points about criticizing our bodies.
- I most likely failed my Psychology of Personality exam because I don't pay attention in class due to the combined environmental factors of: A) One of my best friends sits on my right and we're super goofy together, B) A cute guy sits to my left... I spend most of class glancing at him out of the corner of my eye, and C)I have my laptop open to read my online textbook but end up blogging instead.
- I've been wondering about the difference between psychopaths and sociopaths. I may have to do some research later. Abnormal psychology fascinates me.
- Maybe I should not do English as a major. Maybe I should choose psychology and become a behavior analyst. I'm already minoring in psychology. Maybe I should look into majoring...
- I'm getting frustrated that none of my shows have been on the past two weeks because of the political debates being aired. I know elections are important but I was really looking forward to Elementary this week!
- My time in Spain has been on my brain a lot lately. I miss being in Spain and I miss my friends, but I don't know that I would ever study there again. High demand, little payoff.
- My Bharatanatyam dance teacher pointed out that Americans are friendly most of the time and will smile when greeted, but then the smile immediately disappears. She told me that in her culture, they will smile at someone and continue to smile until they get home. I definitely smile when I say hello to someone and then immediately stop after I pass them. I never noticed that before.
HAPPY FRIDAY!
