Birthday Weekend

Friday I spent on the Cape with my friend, Tayla.  Saturday I drove back from the Cape, did a little shopping with my mom, and spent the rest of the day opening presents and relaxing.  Later on I went into the city with my friends (since I'm the big TWO-ONE!).  Sunday (tomorrow) I will return to the city again - this time with my family for lunch and dessert.
My mom likes to surprise me because I tend to be naughty and find out surprises ahead of time - I suppose it's my nosey nature but I just have to know!  This time my mom split all of my presents up, making sure there were twenty-one.  Some may argue that's not original, but it's definitely creative and a first for any of my birthdays!

#1 was this beautiful bouquet of flowers!  I love candles and flowers - anything that smells lovely.  I've never been much for roses, but I LOVE lilies!

#2: I saw this tee when we were staying in Disney last month and I'm obsessed!  It's super soft and the most comfortable shirt I have ever owned.  Bonus points for being Disney!

#3: My sister is constantly borrowing my various chargers for her phone or iPod so she finally decided to replace them.

#4:  I'm a child at heart.  I think it's important to celebrate youth for your entire life, no matter what age you are.  Creativity, imagination and innocence disappear far too quickly nowadays.  I saw tons of people with these sequined Minnie Mouse ears when we were in Florida, but couldn't justify buying them for myself.

#5:  Peaceful Meadows is local dairy farm that began serving fresh, homemade ice cream in the 1960's.  They expanded years ago, but there are only three locations in all of Massachusetts.  Bonus: they're open year-round!  They have incredible chocolate frappes (or milkshakes for those of you not from New England), but this time my family gave me a gift certificate for the sundae of my choice!

#6:  I love nuts to snack on, but they can be pricey.  My family spoiled me and bought me an entire container of cashews to enjoy all by myself, but I decided to share!

Present #7 is HEAVENLY.  If you love Thin Mints, you will adore these.  They are just like three cookies stacked up, with a Crunch Bar on the bottom.  They come individually wrapped, which is perfectly sized for that afternoon craving you get.

I love a multigrain bagel with a thin layer of Nutella spread on it, especially right out of the toaster so the Nutella gets gooey and melted.  Present #8 will be well-used and loved even more!

As you're probably well aware, I am a massive nerd and avid reader.  For present #9, I received two $10 gift cards to Barnes and Noble, plus a one dollar bill (21, get it?).  I decided to spend my birthday book money on Relish by Daphne Oz.  I LOVE The Chew, and I've grown to really admire Daphne Oz (Daughter of Dr. Oz).  I've been lusting after this book for months and I went on a hunt immediately when I arrived at Barnes and Noble.  I was relieved to find it and upon getting it home, couldn't put it down!

#10: This CVS giftcard allowed me to buy some makeup goodies I've had my eye on for a while.

Confession: I'm a bit of a caffiene-aholic.  I never used to be, but since college I have found myself addicted.  I believe my addiction is partly because Dunkin Donuts' are convenient.  I imagine I will spend present #11 within a few days!

I usually fill up my gas tank at Cumberland Farms because there are so many near my house and on my route to work.  My gas tank has present #12 to thank for its full belly!

#13: Right now I'm loving their Strawberry, Poppyseed and Chicken salad with an iced green tea.  I regularly swing by the one near the college where my sister attends a summer academic program when I drop her off/pick her up on weekends.

#14: I tend to be a little picky about the chocolate I like; my preference is dark chocolate.  I don't like regular M&Ms, but peanut M&Ms are the exception.

#15: Journey Into Imagination is a vastly underrated ride in EPCOT.  I will ride it four to five times during a visit, I love it that much.  Figment is one of my favorite Disney characters because I love what he represents.  He is childish delight, creativity, joy and of course, imagination.  Disney is a magical place that brings out the inner child in all of us.

#16:  It's taken me years but I have finally found a bread I adore.  12 grain breads can bee woody or too seeded.  Arnold Whole Grain 12 Grain is perfect for sandwiches or toast.

#17: Greek yogurt is a new favorite of mine and I have loved adding it to my breakfast as a sweet treat.

Present #18 my sister left in her dorm at her college program so I will have to wait a few days for it.  I wonder what it is!

Presents #19 and 20 are lunch tomorrow in the city at Wagamama and cannolis from Mike's Pastry for dessert.  I can't wait!

I think my mom needed one more present so she decided to give me an I.O.U. for the Alex and Ani bracelet of my choice.  We drove north to a shopping plaza that had The Paper Store this morning and I chose the sailboat bracelet.  As you can see in the above picture, the sailboat represents courage, adventure and transition.  It spoke to me even before I knew what it symbolized.

I'm going out tonight with a group of friends.  I'm excited to see my friends; I haven't seen any of them in quite a while.  Today was a great day and I cannot wait for tomorrow's family lunch in the city.
