Birthday Weekend (Cont.)
Today was the second half of my birthday festivities! Last night's adventure into the city with my friends was a good time; we hit a few bars and ended up going home relatively early (1am is early for us haha). It was good to see John, Kailey and Chris whom I haven't seen since our England trip.
Two of my birthday presents from my mom and sister (see Birthday Weekend) were dinner at Wagamama in Faneuil Hall and cannolis from Mike's Pastry in the North End. I got hooked on Wagamama when I was in England and Mike's is a special treat my family and I only get to enjoy every once in a while.
I brought my tiara from last night with us so I could wear it around the city. I got a few strange looks but most everyone smiled and wished me happy birthday.
Wagamama is a British restaurant chain that serves East Asian food; the decor is that of a modern Japanese ramen and sushi bar. There are long wooden tables with benches that seat two. They offer a wide variety of food, from noodles to rice. The chain is very popular in England but because there are only three in Massachusetts, people have yet to discover this delicious restaurant.
Thus comes an end to my Birthday Weekend. It was not perfect, but as far as birthdays good, it was pretty darn good! I was able to spend time with friends and family, spent some time by myself to reflect and got to have delicious food! What more could a girl ask for??
I very rarely need to remind myself about how fortunate I am to have all that I have and be surrounded by those whom I love. I am extremely grateful for my loved ones and who I have grown to become. Life presents challenges so you can overcome them and come out on the other side stronger than you were before. I like who I am and I am content for now.
Thanks for following me on my Birthday adventures and wishing you all a happy week!
