Next Up: Bachelorette Party
This weekend was Ellie's bachelorette party! It was a blast; just hanging out with the girls was refreshing and fun. I always forget that they're all older than me. I get teased about not knowing Janet Jackson's songs and they reminisce about wearing scrunchies and side ponytails. I'm at least ten years younger but I never feel left out or like I'm their kid sister they are allowing to tag along.
The morning started off when I picked up Gina. I saw her dragging a MASSIVE suitcase behind her, while her hubby Tyler was giggling behind her. We managed to cram it into my trunk; I feel it's worth mentioning that we were only staying in the city OVERNIGHT. We drove up and met Roselle and Justin's sister Amanda just outside the city. We poured ourselves mimosas in our sparkly plastic tumblers and sipped happily while getting pedicures.

Roselle was done first and surprisingly managed to wait patiently for the rest of us to finish up. We drove into the city and checked into the hotel. The Omni Parker is old but still very nice; the staff is friendly and took the time to laugh and smile with us. Since our room wasn't ready, we made our way down the street to find some lunch.
If you're ever in Boston, take the time to cram yourself into this itty bitty dive bar. It doesn't matter what you get, it'll be tasty! The honey mustard is the most delicious sauce I have ever tasted, bar none.
I think one of the things that makes us all get along so well is the fact that we like to be prepared; we're not exactly light packers. The poor valet had to give us receipts for SIXTEEN bags. Like I mentioned, we were only there for a single night. We were running a little behind schedule, we decided to get ready quickly and head to the restaurant.
Amanda was super sweet and thoughtful; she made little hangover kits for each of the ladies with our party. We all got a slightly different variety of goodies and the bags brought a personalized touch to the entire night. The adorable little cookies were shaped into bums wearing panties! They were adorable and everyone LOVED them! I didn't want to eat mine; they were too cute!
We had already gorged ourselves at dinner (while attempting to still save room for alcohol in our round bellies). We foolishly ordered the dessert that came with our meal package and this is what arrived:
It was a bit intense. We all agreed we would just taste it; we may or may not have licked the plates clean... Don't judge. It was a special occasion.
The evening's festivities then progressed on to Howl At the Moon, a piano bar. I wasn't quite sure what to expect; I heard "piano bar" and thought we'd be hearing "Piano Man" for several hours with some watered-down drinks. There were two pianos, in fact - plus a drum set, guitars and bass. There were several singers/musicians, each of them able to sing and play all of the instruments. There was only one girl in the group and she was an incredible rapper and singer. She could do everything from "Counting Stars" and "Fancy" to "Dancing Queen" and "It's My Party".
I won't get into too many details, as you can see all the evidence above. It was a bit of a nutty night, but we were back at the hotel and in bed by 2 AM. None of us were hungover, but we were all a little sleepy. Overall, it was a fun night of dancing and giggling. Nothing got too out of hand and unlike the other wedding parties in the club, no one got kicked out. I was worried that the night would be too simple and kind of boring; turns out that it was fun, hilarious and just a the right amount of crazy!
