The Longest Days
Well, I'm not quite out of the woods yet. It's been a loooooong week. I'll work backward:
It's finals week as you know, I finished most of my essays and took my only physical written final this morning. I still have one more paper due by Friday. It was supposed to be due tomorrow but I got an extension. Plus graduation is this coming Saturday and there's also a party following the ceremony at my house, which sounded like such a great idea two months ago. There's so much to do to get ready and it's probably going to rain.
Anne's memorial was this afternoon. I won't get into details but to say I was drained would be a massive understatement. I had to go to work directly after so I was exhausted, sad and impatient. I also have a pretty bad cold, or as Dr. Crowley calls it: "The Creeping Crud". I'm lucky I haven't been knocked flat on my butt yet.
I've slept a total of 3 hours in the last 72 hours. Yesterday was the dance recital; it was crazy, chaotic, exhausting and totally awesome. I have some insane scratches from the sequins on my costume and my legs are pretty stiff today.
I was walking one of my little students to the backstage area and another girl, about age six or seven, stopped me to ask if the little girl was my daughter. I laughed and informed her that no, I was not her mom. I jokingly asked how old she thought I was, to which she responded "Like...forty?" -__-
My little Pre-K II group all thinks I'm fifteen but that's what happens when you're four years old, I guess. I'll take fifteen over forty any day. My own class's dance went super well...the second and third time, anyway.
Ellie's bridal shower went well; post on that to come soon, I promise. We were trying to plan the bachelorette party but I started feeling overwhelmed because we couldn't agree on a plan and
Friday night was Dana's band concert; she did an excellent job and her solo went very well! I was very proud. Even though attending the annual POPs concert always means running into parties I don't like talking to or seeing, but it's worth it to see my baby sister perform.
I'm finally going to get to sleep tonight. I am so excited that I... .... Zzzzzzzzzzzz
