Tea Time

So Thursday I was sitting in my Major British Writers I class with Professor Crowley when he started telling us about the time he and his friends all got drunk and played darts with a map of the world.  They each had to visit the location where their pencil-dart stuck and take pictures as proof they had visited their designated location.  My professor ended up with Mo i Rana, Norway - a place no one has ever heard of apparently.  I thought this sounded like a wonderful idea (minus the drunken haze included in the game), although the thought of travelling alone sounded lonely and not fun at all.  Crowley then went on to tell us about flights to Ireland that cost $50 and we all nearly fell out of our chairs in disbelief.  This is much like that urban myth that gas used to cost less than $1.
My professor reminded me though of my dream for six months now: to return to Europe.  I loved my month in Barcelona, my experiences of which can be found HERE.  That blog of my month's adventure in Spain is what inspired me to start this blog.
My nine hour layover in London back in June was not anywhere near enough and I have been longing to return.  I was approached by my favorite professor, Ellen, on Tuesday about a study abroad tour to England she's conducting.  I had seen it listed on my school's website but I had later decided to pass because the tour itself only visits London for two days out of fourteen, the rest of the time spent in Brighton, Winchester, Glastonbury, Bath and Oxford.
Crowley's talk on Thursday though made me realize how much I love and want to travel in general, and how much more difficult it is going to get for me to do it after I graduate.  I have the time, money and opportunity now so I should go now, no matter where it leads me.  Some London is better than none, no?  And with my favorite professor, reading Northanger Abbey??  Call me crazy but I'm going.  I just finished my application and one of my recommendations is from Ellen herself.  All I need is the absolute, definite go-ahead from my mom.  So assuming my application is accepted and everything falls into place accordingly, I will be off to England for two weeks this coming May!
