Birthday Girl
It's truly a terrifying moment when you realize your baby sister - the one who shoved a rock up her nose and got it stuck when she was four, is turning FIFTEEN. My beautiful little sister, who pushes my buttons and drives me nuts, turned fifteen on Friday! Fifteen seems like a fairly simple, safe age to most. To me, it's far scarier than sixteen. When you're sixteen, yes, you're learning to drive and it's supposed to mean that you are becoming an adult or whatever. Fifteen to me confirms that my sister is a high schooler and no longer a middle schooler.
In my family, when it's "your" holiday, you get to choose where the family goes out to dinner. My sister chose a restaurant called "Fire and Ice" in Providence. It's a grill bar where you pick your raw ingredients and the chefs stirfry them on a giant grill in the center of the restaurant. Here are a few snapshots of the evening:
