- I've always preferred BBC's Sherlock to CBS's Elementary, but I've watched both shows equally faithfully. However, recently my appreciation for Jonny Lee Miller (Elementary) as an actor has been growing. I knew he had played Mr. Knightley in the 2009 BBC miniseries, Emma (It's Jane Austen, of course I've seen it). I had forgotten that he played Edmund in Mansfield Park (Film, 1999). I'm now on the hunt for the Dexter episodes where he appeared as Jordan Chase.
- I attended the mandatory Study Abroad Pre-Departure Orientation on Tuesday. It was two hours of things I already knew - all things I learned last time I attended orientation. To top it off, I was hungry and had baby carrots in my backpack but they were too loud to eat. The England group then had to wait around after so we could meet separately. I got to meet my fellow classmates, but I suddenly felt shy and didn't really speak to any of them (I really need to work on that). I also met the other two professors other than Ellen who are leading this study tour. I discovered that I not only have to read nine books and four excerpts, I also have to keep a daily journal and write a ten page paper when I get back. Lame, right? I also learned that we haven't chartered a bus so we may have to take public transportation, AND we are staying in hotels and hostels... As you may guess, I was not counting on either of these things happening. I'm still a little shell-shocked.
- On my one day to sleep in in weeks, my sister called me Wednesday morning at eight o'clock to request I drop something off at school for her. I dressed, brought her things to school, returned home, crawled back in to bed and slept for an additional two hours. I resolved that I will from now on charge her in chocolate chip cookies and iced coffee for these little errands.
- I may not end up taking Southern Literature because Ellen recommended I take it with a different professor who is not teaching it next semester. If I decide not to take it, I will need to find anther class to take its place or decide to only take four classes.
- Monday is Patriots' Day, which is a Massachusetts-only holiday. This means that not only do the high schoolers get it off for April vacation, but we college kids also get it off! For those of you not from this state, Patriots' Day commemorates the Battle of Lexington and Concord.
- I was watching the episode of New Girl called "Quick Hardening Caulk" and Schmidt with the lionfish literally made me laugh until I cried. Schmidt isn't always my favorite but I can always count on him for a really good laugh.
- This may sound a little strange but I'm kind of writing a book. I don't know if it will ever be published or if I will even allow anyone to read it, but I'm writing it - and it feels good.
