My Easter weekend was spent in New Jersey with my grandmother. We drove down early Friday morning and stayed until after Easter supper on Sunday night. We had lunch at Pizza Hut with my other grandmother (my dad's mom) on Saturday afternoon. We were literally the ONLY people in the entire place - which meant we got to goof off and be loud (and obnoxious). It was great to spend time with my Gramma, because we typically stay at my other grandmother's house.
Saturday night we went out to dinner at TGI Friday's and we had to wait forever for a table! My mom's younger brother, Randy, his wife, Pam, and his daughter, Ryann, joined us. My sister and I adore Ryann, and wish we got to spend time with her more frequently!

After we all gorged ourselves at Friday's, we came home and watched 27 Dresses. I love that movie and it hit the spot. You know when you're just in the mood for a certain movie? After, I switched channels and Too Cute: Fluffiest Kittens Edition was on!! I cannot tell you how adorable it was. To top it all off, I was getting ready for bed later that night and "Bye Bye Bye" played on the radio. It was literally just an awesome day.
Easter Sunday included a TON of candy (courtesy of my Gram, who I swear is trying to make us all fat), two baskets of stuff for my sister and I, and an egg hunt that took over four hours - and all the eggs were hidden in one room! My grandmother "helped" the Easter Bunny hide the eggs for myself, my sister and Ryann. However, we got down to the last three eggs and suddenly my absent-minded Grandma couldn't remember where they were. She boiled an entire ham for the nine of us, even though three of the nine don't eat it. There were also: two turkey roasts, mashed potatoes, corn, rolls, boiled cabbage (from the ham), and cake. Ryann got a little bunny from Grandma that sang "Here Comes Peter Cottontail".

My mom decided a long time ago that it was wasteful to buy new Easter baskets every year, so my Grandma made us some! Mine is the purple one on the left; you can see it's pretty old!
It's been a long standing tradition in our house that I get kiwi from the Easter Bunny. I'm not sure why; I think it's because I was always that weird kid who liked fruit better than candy. My sister, on the other hand, is even stranger because she loved Stop&Shop Chicken Noodle Soup. I don't know what makes it so special, but she's requested it for the past two holidays in a row so something about it must be good!
Happy Easter!
