All the Wonders of Autumn
Autumn has always been my favorite season, especially as someone who grew up in New England. I'm not talking about Halloween - although Salem is only an hour north of my hometown; I am talking about the wonders of a season I look forward to all year long. I finally caved and lit my Slatkin & Co. candle from Bath & Body Works in my favorite scent, "Leaves".
This kitty loves fall too! |
I adore autumn! Mock me if you will, but there are just so many wonderful things in the fall:
- Apple picking
- Hot chocolate
- Fall festivals with crafts, quilts, fresh baked goods
- Haunted houses
- Pumpkin picking
- Apple pie
- Hayrides
- Falling leaves
- Homemade applesauce
- Crisp mornings with slow moving mists
- Bread baking, filling the whole house with the fragrant smell
- Hot apple cider
- Scarecrows
- Corduroy
- Tractors and old pickup trucks
- The smell of cinnamon and cloves
- Kettle corn
- Caramel apples
- Warm sweaters
- Corn mazes
- FOOTBALL!
Just thinking of it all gives me goosebumps! I can't wait! Sure, saying goodbye to a carefree summer is never easy. Everyone dreads school starting and the days growing shorter. I personally can't wait for it to finally be fall...to feel like fall. However, it should then stay fall until summer again because I detest snow and rain.
